Ingredients for meat pie
Flour – approximately 8-9 cups
Margarine or butter – 0.5 kilograms
Baking powder – 2 teaspoons
Salt – 2-4 pinches (according to your taste)
Water – 1.5-2 cup
Carrots – 2 medium-sized pieces
Potatoes – 2 medium-sized pieces
Onion – 1 medium-sized piece
Meat – 0.5 kilograms
Vegetable oil – 2 tablespoons
Egg – 1 piece
Knorr cubes – 2 pieces
Thyme – 1 teaspoon
How to prepare dough
Step 1. You need a big bowl. Add the 8 cups of flour into it.
Step 2. Mix a bit of salt (1-2 pinches) and the baking powder with the flour.
Step 3. You should cut the butter (or margarine) into pieces and add all the pieces into the flour.
Step 4. Rub the flour with butter using your fingers. It is often better to use margarine instead because this way you can make the flour crumble-like.
Step 5. Form the dough by adding cold water carefully. It’s enough to add 0.5 cups to make a great quality dough that is stiff and perfect for the meat pie.
Step 6. Let the dough set for about 6 minutes.
